New user of Kubuntu 16.04 using a x220. How do I log in with thi

I am new to linux and I found that in order to be able to take advantage of the fingerprint reader on my x220 I should install Fingerprint GUI onto Kubuntu 16.04 . I installed it and I can see how to register my fingerprint. However, how can I do stuff with them (such as log in)?

Also, I noticed that Kubuntu 16.04 was not on the list of tested environments, would you like me to test it?

there are issues between KDE and FingerPrintGUI, which make fingerprint almost unusable for KDE-users, at least on my system.

You can find two KDE-Bugs mentioned on Wolfgang's Homepage "Known Issues / 2nd paragraph.

My experiences are documented here:

A potential and partial solution, which for whatever reason did not work for me, has been described here (in German language):

I'd appreciate any additional proposal to solve this issue.
